GROWING UP WITH PLUM ORGANICS

IMG_5270

Time is a beast, no? I seriously can’t believe Lillie Sol is 6 months. At her last well visit, her pediatrician and I discussed the introduction of solids and it was bittersweet to say the least. With Lucas I was always excited and ready for the next milestone. This time around I am desperately trying to find a way to make time slow down. Any mom out there with the secret? No, seriously.

About a week after Lillie’s appointment I received an email from Plum Organics and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. They recently introduced a new line of Grow Well pouches with a focus on giving your baby a delicious meal full of nutrients using organic ingredients to address additional functional needs for baby.

While some moms may scoff at pouches, I have always been a big fan. They were the perfect solution for Lucas when we were on the go and I most definitely plan on using them with Lillie while we are out and about in the city. Plum Organics has changed the pouch game with their new pouches. The line is made up of four pouches: DHA, Tummy, Muscle, and Bone. All important and vital for our growing babes. As a mom, I couldn’t ask for anything more. If you’d like to try these for your own little one, Plum Organics has provided a coupon code for $1 off your purchase. Score!

Cheers to growing babes and keeping them healthy and happy. Thank you Plum Organics for making this mama’s life a bit easier!

This post was sponsored by Plum Organics through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write about their Grow Well products, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands I love and trust!

A 3 MONTH UPDATE

IMG_4244 IMG_4261 IMG_4268 IMG_4272

How has it been 3 months already? Lillie Sol, our little love. You are a dream. You’re not sleeping through the night yet but you’ve given us a fewww long(ish) stretches. Your perfectly content in your crib and we usually bring you into bed with us in the early AM. You are officially a giggler and you think I’m pretty hilarious. Also, THE CHUB. You are filling out everywhere and I can’t get enough of those cheeks and thighs! Your big brother is certifiably obsessed with you, as we all are.

TWO MONTH UPDATE

I took these photos on time butttt I’m a little posting. Seems like a current trend over. Two kids is no joke 😉 Anywho, two months with our baby girl! It seems like just yesterday she was born and now she is this delicious baby who coos, has amazing neck and head strength, and gives us the best smiles.

Even her cries are adorable! This little one has us wrapped around her very tiny fingers already. Te adoro Lillie Sol.

Thank you to Milestone Cards for these adorable Baby’s First Year Miffy Cards

LILLIE SOL

Our niña, Lillie Sol, made her debut Earth side on August 1st at exactly 4pm weighing in at 6 pounds 12 ounces. One week early. Her cry is slightly raspy and soft, she nurses like a champ, her features are small and delicate (my petite little mama), and she’s already smiling. Her papi and big brother are smitten and I’m head over heels for my princess. Lillie Sol you are our dream come true.

PRETTY LITTLE THINGS

IMG_1152 IMG_1419 IMG_0888 IMG_1171 IMG_1201 IMG_1200*things currently making me very, very happy*

+ My sleeping toddler surrounded by all his favorite pillows and blankies. (zebra/tiger blanket | tiger pillow case | miffy lamp

+ The sweetest gift from the sweetest shop for baby girl.

+ My beautiful aunts plant hanging in our living room.

+ NYC window sills.

+ A big ol growing bump (and this Hatch jumper that I have been living in).

HALF WAY.

I’m 20 weeks today. HALF. FREAKING. WAY. My sweet bean is wiggling up a storm and Ivan can finally feel those sweet kicks too.  All these firsts – it still feels so surreal to be experiencing them all again. Speaking of firsts, watch this video and have your tissues handy. It might be my raging hormones but I think all moms – pregnant or not – can relate.

This time around my body was all “oh yea, I know what to do here” and began growing – everywhere – FAST. My belly popped around the 10 week mark and I’m continuously surprised/shocked when I catch glimpses of myself in the mirror. Who’s that lady with the belly? Oh yea, it’s me!

It’s still cold here in New York, which means I’m still bundling myself up in the only two coats left that fit, just wishing for beautiful Spring days where I can bust out my dresses and leave the house with ease. I’m also ready to just rock this baby bump like nobodies business rather than feel weighed down in layers, adding extra bulk to my already expanding body.

A constant craving has been Sanpellegrino aranciata. I buy a pack on almost every supermarket run. I fill up a huge glass with ice, pour a can, add a straw, plop myself on the couch, and voila. 5 minutes of pure, orange bliss.

20 weeks down. 20 more to go.

WE’RE HAVING A BABY!

IMG_6914 IMG_6911 IMG_6924IMG_6897In case it wasn’t clear by the recent posts featuring my expanding waist line – we are expecting baby #2! I really should have written this post weeks ago but I’m going to go ahead and blame my pregnancy brain here.

I’m 17 weeks today and I’m finally starting to feel a bit like myself again. The first trimester was a doozy. Nothing like my pregnancy with Lucas (in which I was the girl who was glowing, feeling top notch, and had energy to burn). A few highlights from my first trimester:

+ crying for hours over the state of our bathroom (we are in the midst of renovating said bathroom) and scaring the bejeezus out of Ivan who I think seriously questioned my mental stability in that moment.

+ morning sickness. afternoon sickness. evening sickness.

+ cringing/crying at the thought of brushing my teeth. see above.

+ saying hello to blemishes and blotchy/red skin.

+ exhaustion from the miracle of life going on in my body AND taking care of my high energy toddler.

+ being an emotional seesaw – highs were HIGH, lows were LOW.

That being said, we are over the moon for our little bebe coming in August! A few weeks into my second trimester and I’m finally getting into the swing of things. When I think of holding a squishy, beautiful newborn in just a few months it’s enough to make my heart skip a beat and feel all of of the love struck feelings that be. Sometimes I catch a glance at my growing belly in the mirror and I still can’t believe it – we’re having a baby!

We are huge fans of Earth Mama Angel Baby in our home. We have been using their products since Lucas was an itty bitty munchkin. In fact, one of my earliest memories of using Earth Mama Angel Baby was while breastfeeding Lucas and slathering on this miracle butter.

Even though Lucas is a toddler he is still my baby! Right? Right! After Lucas finishes his nightly bath part of our routine is wrapping him up in a towel, lots of hugs, and making sure he is covered head to toe in lotion. I’m completely obsessed with this Calming Lavender Lotion. The scent is mild but just so delicious at the same time and reminds me of Lucas’s baby smell (because who doesn’t wish they could just bottle up that scent forever?). Besides smelling divine, the ingredients are a win for this mama. It’s formulated with organic Calendula and herbal ingredients and is free of any synthetic fragrance or parabens. You can read more about this fantastic company here.
