Between work, friends, and days in the park, the days seemed to pass in a flash. Today my dear friend Lauren and that beautiful kiddo of her fly back to to the sunshine state (my little Lucas is also flying to Florida with grandma today. I’ll save the sob fest that’s currently happening for a later post..). I’m going to miss them something fierce. With each visit and face time call, our friendship continues to blossom and is solidified in a very real, organic, beautiful way. Lucas and Dylan are brothers by way of their soul mate mamas and their friendship is something I’m so excited to see grow. The way Lucas yells for “Diiiaannn” and the way his eyes grow wide and bright when he sees his friends face is heart melting. On this visit they finally got to meet my other half and Ivan finally, finally, understands what all the fuss is about when it comes to the Noel’s. Ivan instantly bonded with Dylan and text me throughout their trip to check on them. Lots of mush and loving going on over here in NYC. Until next time my sweet loves.

A DAY AT THE ZOO

Saturday afternoon we headed to the Central Park Zoo to meet my lady love Lauren and Lucas’s Florida BFF, Dylan. Lucas was napping and I was certain that he was going to snooze throughout our entire zoo visit but as soon as he head Lauren’s voice he popped right up! He saw Dylan, his eyes lit up, and he immediately requested to get out of his carrier. Such love these boys have for each other! They became fast friends/honorary brothers on our Florida visit and we face time almost daily so he loves him some Titi Lo and Dylan 😉 BTW: he has been calling Lauren “titiiiiii” (aunt) this whole trip. Heart melting for sure. Saturday was a cold one and we did the best we could trekking through Central Park with the boys but at a certain point it was time to call it quits and head to Shake Shack for burgers and hot chocolate. After warming up we took the boys back to my apartment for a bath and a pajama party with my mister. Can I just say, I have the best man in the world. He willingly volunteered to take care of both boys so the mamas could have a night out to celebrate. Lucky lady right here. Disclaimer: our night out resulted in us restaurant hopping and stuffing ourselves to the point where I could barely breathe. No drinks necessary. It was the perfect Saturday.

BROOKLYN BABES

Saturday was perfect. It was cold, but not too cold. The sun was shining. Brooklyn was calling our name! We headed down to Dumbo to see this babe and this babe (plus the little ones of course). Christine recently moved into a new apartment and it’s pretty – ok, REALLY – amazing. Definitely inspired me for hopefully soon upcoming move. We ran around Dumbo with pretty much the best trio there ever was. These kids are destined to be city bff’s. A ride on the carrousel and a pit stop for cupcakes and wine later, we headed back to the house to eat chinese and watch football with the hubby’s. The night ended with fresh and so clean tots and cocktails for the parentals. I heart these ladies and those sweet babes of theirs.                           tee c/o slyfox threads | windbreaker & sweats c/o nununubaby | mask from littlest crochet shop

PARK DATES

Oh how I love trips to the park with my baby and great friends. My girlfriends are my loves and this gem of a gal is one of the best darn ladies I know. Jackie loves my guy and Lucas loves her right back. We look forward to our weekly dates – coffee, chasing after the bub, and lounging on the couch after Lucas has whooped both our butts. Cheers to friends who love our babies! I think that in itself is pretty epic..and shit.

BROOKLYN FOR THE WIN

Last weekend we headed to Brooklyn (noticing a trend here..) for some good eats and quality time with good friends. We ate delicious burgers and mom and dad had a cold beer while Lucas’s drink of choice was milk. I got a little ahead of myself in terms of the weather. I’m wishing a little to hard for Fall and it was warmer than I had anticipated – boo! In any case, that’s why layers were invented, am I right?  My girl Latonya lives in the neighborhood and we were able to meet for crepes and coffee. Her gorgeous little River and my rambunctious Lucas have become fast friends. River is a bit older than Lucas and he just adores her. What can I say. He likes older women.  Did you check out those dance moves? These two have some serious rhythm!
It’s the weekend again. Not quite sure if we will make it out to BK again, but I’m looking forward to another adventure with my boys.

SUNDAYS ARE FOR CELEBRATING

Sundays are not for rest – they are for celebrating with loved ones. Clearly! Yesterday we took a trip to Jersey (gasp) to get our birthday brunch on for our dear friend Ruby. The party took place at Lucas’s god mamas house (who we lovingly refer to as ‘nina’) and I was blown away. Ana created a variety of “bars”: popcorn, coffee, and my personal favorite – mimosas. No detail was overlooked. The affair was intimate, just our closest pals, and we had the best time. Lucas of course thought the party was for him and showed off his best dance moves as well as tried to eat the cake before the birthday girl. I don’t know where gets it from. Must be his daddy. And if you haven’t already noticed, my tootsies are on a summer strike. C’mon Fall. We are ready for you!

A BESOS WEEKEND

As I sit in front of the computer and look at the images above I can’t help but smile. My #besosdemami mama came to visit for the weekend and it was increible. Karla and I have been Instagram friends for a little over a year and over the past few months have formed such an incredible bond. We talk every day. You know the kind of friend that makes you want to be a better person? That’s Karla. The only thing missing was baby France (we are currently planning her engagement with Lucas ;). We went to Playtime, ate street food, went to dinner with my girl Alex, drank cocktails, walked to Central Park, talked, talked, and talked. In a nutshell: NYC perfection. I’m hoping to see that pretty face again sooner than later. Missing you already amiga!

FRIENDS, BUBBLES, AND ART

Today was good. Really good. It was the type of day NYC summer dreams are made of. Ninety degree weather..pshhhh. You don’t scare us! The hubs and I hopped on the train and headed downtown to meet a few of our loves and make a special stop at the Washington Square Outdoor Exhibition: “Art in the Village”. Lucas’s Uncle Phil is one heck of a talented artist and we had to go see his amazing display.
We set up camp right on University Ave. and spent the afternoon drinking chilled tea, blowing bubbles, and watching the passerby’s. One thing about NYC in the summer time, it sure brings out the crazies. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but seriously, sit in one spot for longer than 20 minutes and I guarantee you will be able to count the number of characters that pass you by on both hands. I write this not to scare you, but to assure you that this is what makes our city unique and fun 😉

IMG_5573Today was only the beginning of what looks to be an incredible summer for us. Keep the scorchers comin’! This mama isn’t complaining one bit (don’t hold this against me when I start rambling about how the heat is unbearable, the trains are stinky, yada yada yada ;). Happy summer days, you guys!

GLORIOUS MAY

mayday3-1024x682
Oh hello May! We have been anxiously waiting for you!

On the first day of this highly anticipated month, Lucas and I ventured off to Central Park for a play date with some of our favorite ladies. I know this is a tad late but our 1st day of May was so perfect I had to share. The weather was lovely – a crisp 70 degrees – and the air smelled like tulips (thanks Park Ave!) and hot dogs. NYC perfection.

Latonya and Lindsey have two of the cutest little gals and Lucas is smitten with them! He’s at such a fun age and I love watching him interact and explore with other children. We spent the morning laying out in the grass and watching our kiddos run around and dig for hidden treasures in the dirt.

Lucas passed out cold on the walk home. He was covered head to toe in filth – literally from his mullet to his teensy fingernails. All signs of a good day with the little mister. May – we are so happy to be reunited!
