SUNSHINE FOR THE SOUL

^^Thanks Mom. For the photo and the thumb print ;)^^
I’m torn. I am missing this beach and that pool something fierce. However it has been such a pleasure sleeping with the windows open the last few nights and feeling the cool breeze fill the room. I not so secretly adore NYC Fall! Autumn lovings aside, we had the best 10 days filled with hot Florida sun and lots and lots of time spent by the water. There is something about the beach that fills my soul with an overwhelming sense of calm and peace. Clearwater, we will back before you know it.

FLORIDA HANGS | WE’RE BACK!

Clearwater, Florida. You have my heart forever. I have been traveling down to the Sunshine state to visit my aunties since I was a baby and Lucas has followed suit. We spent the last 10 days soaking in lots of family time, backyard hangs, and endless hours sans shoes and pants. What’s better than a toddler running around with a garden hose and thinking it’s the best thing ever? Not much I tell you. We all had such a wonderful time and it was a much needed break from reality. I apologize in advance for the photo dumps coming your way this week.

We were greeted at the airport by a familiar crisp breeze and it looks like Fall will be arriving right on time. Summer you were so good to us and you will be missed. Now bring on the pumpkin spiced lattes!

SEMANA SANTA

Semana Santa.  Our Easter weekend was just perfect. Sunday we woke up to a happy toddler and after 2 very large cups of coffee – one for me, one for the mister – we leisurely began our day. There was some dancing in our pj’s and a bubble bath for the littlest babe. Ivan steamed our outfits and I packed up all the goodies for Lucas’s Easter back. This year theme was Ninja Turtles. I think the Easter bunny would have approved. My mom arrived in the early afternoon and we were off to spend the day in Brooklyn with family. What a blessed day! Sending you all love, blessings, and kisses – from my family to yours.

NOCHE BUENA

IMG_8164-1024x1024
In my family we celebrate Noche Buena (Christmas Eve). We all get together to eat, drink, and open gifts. It truly is an evening filled with love. I love this tradition of ours and even with a very late bed time for the kiddo, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Christmas day is more laid back, a day for leftovers and pajamas. This year we took the train to my moms and spent a few hours relaxing and drinking mimosas while Lucas played and danced. There might have even been a 30 minute cat nap involved (for me..not the baby ;). I have everything I could ever ask for. My family, my boys, our health, and an abundance of love. I hope you all received everything you wished for and more! Merry belated Christmas!

HOLIDAY PROCRASTINATION AND A SICK BUBS

Lucas came back from a week long trip to Florida. I was absolutely, 100% ready for him to be home. I can’t even really tell you what I did with a week away from the kid. I had these grand plans of finally going to the dentist and updating my hard drive..very important stuff here. Neither the dentist or dreams of an updated hard drive happened. I did catch up on a lot of work and have an incredible amount of qt time with the mister. However by the end of the week alone time together meant watching videos of Lucas on repeat. We were missing our boy to say the least.
Fast forward to Friday when I caught the vicious stomach bug nightmare that’s been making the rounds. I was out of commission for all of Friday and most of Saturday. The evening approached and I was feeling good enough to go to our secret Santa in brooklyn. Hip hip for this monster only lasting 24 hours! Little did I know I passed the bug on to the littlest mister. We woke up this morning covered in toddler puke and our entire day has been spent trying to nurse our baby back to health. Did I mention I left Christmas shopping to the last minute? Yep. Tomorrow was supposed to be the big shopping extravaganza but it looks like we won’t be making it out. So here it goes. 2 days before the big day and I have no gifts. I’m slightly freaking out. Ok I’m really freaking out. I’m hoping for another 24 hour win. Is that to much to ask? A Christmas miracle perhaps? As I type this the kid has regained some energy and has requested his Legos. Good sign, right? Fingers crossed! So please for the love of pedialyte and all that is good, let my baby wake up healthy and bouncing off the walls tomorrow. Keep you all posted and happy shopping to all my procrastinators 😉 Night y’all!

I’m still pinching myself that I was able to be a part of such an amazing collaboration. Well here it is (eek!) – my tips for a sparkling date night with your other half. For throwing the perfect holiday party check out Julie’s tips, and for the perfect holiday brunch head over here to watch Christine’s tips.
Tonight we will be celebrating at the Eventi hotel with Solerno, friends, and of course, cocktails 😉 I’ll be posting some more behind the scenes footage this week.
Happy holidays and cheers

I hope everyone had a beautiful day yesterday giving thanks and spending time with loved ones. We were amongst family and friends and it was truly a wonderful Thanksgiving. My two turkeys are the light of my life and man am I one blessed lady to have them. My little family of 3 has been through a ton of changes this year and each uncovered stone has made us stronger and just solidifies what I have known all along (I’m a genius that way) – we can get through anything with love. And there’s a whole lotta love happening around these parts! A few things I am forever thankful and grateful for:
our health. we are a bunch of healthy, happy people over here.

a beautiful mama who makes me strive to be the best mom I can be. it’s hard to top that lady.

the handsome fella above and his hugs that make me feel warm, safe, and eternally loved.

friends who are rare gems.

my career.

a small person who couldn’t bring me more happiness if he tried. i’ll take another just like him, thank ya very much.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! May your bellies and hearts be full this holiday and always!

SOLERNO AND SPARKLING HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN

photo
The holidays are coming and it’s my favorite time of the year! Tis’ the season for cheery Christmas songs, lots of family love, great food, and the perfect cocktail. I’ve teamed up with two of my favorite ladies, Julie and Christine, for Solerno liqueur’s holiday campaign. Tomorrow is going to be pretty epic. We will be filming all day at the Eventi Hotel to bring you our favorite (and delicious) cocktails using Solerno. Follow us all on Instagram to catch up on behind the scenes action (aka 3 mamas drinking on a Thursday morning sans kiddos. It’s bound to be amazing ;). You can also follow via our sweet hashtag: #solernosparklingmamas                                                             Solerno | Julie | Christine | Nicole (oh hey!)

The hubs and I have grand plans for a family costume this Thursday for Halloween but I needed a costume for the weekend and for fun day time activities this week. I began frantically searching online for something cute and inexpensive and came across this brilliant idea from Oh Happy Day. I instantly fell in love and Ivan was on board so there ya have it. Andy Warhol was a go! We had almost everything we needed for the costume and it took about 10 minutes to put the whole thing together and run out the house in time for a Halloween garden party uptown. ANDY WAS A HIT! I can’t tell you how many times we got stopped and Lucas was in artist heaven with his paint brushes. I’m thrilled with how easy this costume was and Lucas looked stinking adorable. I plan to dress him up again as mini Andy during the day on Thursday. It’s just too good!

FOURTH OF JULY

photo-copy

Wednesday night we left the hustle and bustle of NYC to spend the fourth in a different kind of chaos: the Hamptons! This is Lucas’s 2nd time in the hammies and he loves it. Why shouldn’t he? Sun, sand, amazing food, awesome company, and a big ol’ house to run around in and let loose. I used to come to the Hamptons every summer as a silly 20-something and it’s pretty surreal coming back with my baby boy. It’s a totally different experience with Lucas (sayonara night clubs!) but he sure knows how to show his mama a good time. We drove up in the evening, collapsed, and woke up Thursday refreshed (sort of. I was golden after 2 cups of coffee. 2 years later and I don’t think I will ever be a morning person) and ready for some fourth of July action.
