I can’t get enough of boy + girl. Their children’s collection is everything I love for Lucas – classic shapes and styles, a touch of whimsy in the patterns, and just plain cool. Everything is made locally in L.A. and the California vibe is kept alive in the designs. What inspired you to start Milk + Bots?
What inspired me to start is wanting to do something I truly love and look forward to everyday. I’m a bit obsessed with kids fashion and always hunting for products that embrace creativity. There are so many amazing kids labels that aren’t available everywhere and I get asked all the time where I shop for my son. One thing led to another and I decided to go for it! Warren is a big part of my inspiration – of course.
What were you doing before Milk + Bots?
I was in grad school and in classrooms to become a teacher but I got pregnant and became a stay at home mom. When my son becomes older I still plan on becoming a teacher because I just love the innocence and the world of kids. Growing up is so overrated!
What do you look for when scouting items for your shop?
What I look for when thoughtfully curating collections for my shop is individuality and creativity. I have a passion for quality and design and I love designers that embrace that also. I like to carry new and emerging brands and especially unisex clothing.

Pineapples for the win! Lucas’s tee is from the most adorable shop, Moozega. Made from organic cotton I’m in love with the black and white print. Summery yet chic! I can totally picture Lucas rocking this tee straight through the Fall layered with a knit cardigan. Because my love for pineapples is year round. Also, this. A campaign that is supporting and encouraging kids to wear any color they choose – regardless of their gender. Started by Martine Zoer founder of Quirkie Kids, she is using her shop (chock full of PINK!) and campaign to spread tolerance of individual expression amongst kids and their peers – adults included. #freetowearpink
Casual afternoons call for bicycle shorts 😉 Lucas has been wearing this black pair (from the Children’s Place) for over a year and they are so comfy and worn in at this point that it’s kind of like reaching for one of my old favorite tee’s from college. They’re that good! His Bobo Choses top is from Line + Liv. It’s one of my go-to shops and they are currently having a crazy summer sale. Hip hip for summer savings! 
My girls at Well Rounded asked me to style this shoot and I jumped at the chance. The kids are all wearing some of my favorite brands that Lucas wears daily. Photography was shot by Lindsey who is so so talented and an absolute gem. Are you kidding me with this t-shirt? It screams Lucas Leon! The stripes are mamas dream and the neon bow-tie and faux electric blue suspenders are Lucas’s jam. I (we) chose this perfect top from la-di-da kids, pretty much the ultimate kids online shop stocked with the most amazing brands for the littles. Lucas wore it out on a leisurely walk around the hood and a pit stop to the park.
