STRAWBERRY BREATH

Toddler habits. I can’t keep up. For months we have been blessed with a kid who loves bath time. I’d go as far to say it was an obsession. As soon we would get home Lucas would be running to collect toys, throw them in the empty tub, and request “water, mama!”. Suddenly bath time is for the birds. From one day to the next, getting the kid clean has become a struggle. I have to fight back my own tears as I try and clean a very dirty toddler who is kicking and screaming in two minutes or less. As I continue to try and understand what on earth is happening, Lucas has moved on. 
Brushing his teeth is his new favorite thing. Kind of amazing. He has his routine down pact and I love watching how he interacts and copies us. There’s all sorts of fun things for Lucas to do while brushing his teeth. He has mastered the perfect amount of tooth paste to put on his brush. He knows that he needs to clean ALL his teeth (even the pesky ones in the back). He spits out the extra paste. And the cutest part of all – when he cups his tiny hands under the water and gently brings them back to his mouth to gargle about two drops of water. Cutest. Thing. Ever. 
As I work on getting bath time fun again, I’m digging this new routine and his fresh, strawberry breath.

We have been knee-deep in moving this week. Your belongings are all mixed up and things are changing – but you are always in the best mood. Your smile is contagious and is the ultimate remedy when I’m feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Thank you sweet boy.

WE NEST | WE’RE MOVING!

Eek! After all the dreaming, fantasizing, and talking until we gave ourselves a massive headache, we are finally moving! Moving as in painting, packing, and bickering has commenced. And even though I think my tootsies will be permanently covered in paint I am loving ever single minute. I can’t wait to share more but for now these pretty pastel bowls will have to do. They are currently bringing me unhealthy amounts of joy. But I mean, ice cream in a mint bowl? That’s winning. 

NOLA WITH MY LOVE

I FINALLY sorted through the 100’s of photos we took during our Nola trip. It was so nice to look back and relive our trip. The hubs and I flew solo to New Orleans for this 30th birthday in May. It was the first trip we have taken (just the two of us!) since before Lucas was born. I’m talking three years here. If I’m being honest New Orleans was not on my list of places to visit. At this point in life my idea of a vacation is sitting pool side with a cocktail in hand. However it was not my birthday and therefore not my choice. Ivan was set on Nola and so Nola it was. Well played my love. New Orleans is a dream! Truly!
The colors, the people, the shops. It was glorious. Did I mention you can drink while parading around town? YES. PLEASE. I was a very happy mama. We spent our days eating and drinking our way through the city. I slept in while Ivan went to the pool and relaxed (who cares about a tan when there’s no baby to wake you? Am I right or am I right?). We ate beignets and drank copious amount of delicious iced coffee. We walked hand in hand and Ivan kissed me at all the right moments. It was the perfect trip with the perfect guy. We came back refreshed, reconnected, and ready for parental duties. It was just what we needed as a couple.

STYLED | SUMMER TODDLER FASHION

Good grief. Are these not some of the cutest tots you’ve ever seen?! Lucas and some of his best buddies got together for a morning of fun (bubbles, lollipops, and hugs 😉 and a photo shoot on a sick NYC rooftop. Do these kids have it made or what?

My girls at Well Rounded asked me to style this shoot and I jumped at the chance. The kids are all wearing some of my favorite brands that Lucas wears daily. Photography was shot by Lindsey who is so so talented and an absolute gem. The kiddos are all our own and I think they made the cutest models 😉 You can see the entire shoot and learn more about the brands here. I’m a sucker for those puppy dog eyes – even when you are being naughty. I’m also relishing in these last few days of you being in your crib. Next week you are moving to your big boy bed!

THE PERFECT DATE

Over the weekend we dolled ourselves up and headed to my God sister’s baby shower. We had an amazing time celebrating and Lucas was extra well behaved. He ate what I served him, said please and thank you, and listened to mamas instructions. He was the perfect gentleman! It didn’t hurt that he looked extra adorable in his little twonager ensemble (there’s something about a white tee that gets me every time).
I love our dates and one on one time together (papi sat this one out). I say this every couple of months but this is such an awesome age! We have been having the best convos and laughs. He thinks I’m the funniest and I think he’s the greatest. We are pretty much the perfect team.

It’s ironic how even after the longest of long days when I’m counting down the minutes to bed time, the moment your eyes become heavy and I gently place you in bed, I MISS YOU.

For months I have been witness to this beautiful artist transform her space with new pieces. I have been lucky enough to be just a small part of the process – listening to her as the wheels in that creative brain are turning, watching paintings blossom from a blank canvas to some of the most beautiful art I have ever seen. It has been an honor. Today I am proud to announce that Lauren Noel has relaunched her shop! There are one of a kind pieces as well as gorgeous prints that are sure to brighten up your space with love and beauty.
