Little Quote Jar is the fab little sister to Time Capsules – one of my all time favorite gifts for baby. Created and designed by the same amazing Make History team, this little beauty is now available for sale. Lucas is becoming quite the chatter box and often times I find myself looking at him and thinking “where on earth did you come up with that?!”. I’m sure I am not the only one with a funny kid! These pint sized comedians really do say the darndest things, huh? Little Quote Jar was created with this in mind. Every time you find your little one spewing out something ridiculous, funny, or wise (Lucas is my little wise owl, ya’ll ;), you can scribble down their quote and add it to the jar. Genius! It comes complete with 2 notepads, a pencil, and the jar itself is gorgeous. I am purchasing mine this weekend and plan on displaying it on our front console. In celebration of it’s debut, Make History is offering free worldwide shipping all this week – use the code ‘MAKE HISTORY’ in checkout. xo
This weekend was amazing, exhausting, and trying – all rolled into in. Yes, it really is possible to have an incredible weekend that you just can’t wait to be over. Trust me on this one. The mister was working late all week and had to work ALL weekend. He was off doing important job business and it was just the monkey and I left alone to our own devices. So here is a breakdown of what we did: took a few delicious naps (Lucas. NOT mama.), had a play date, took a few walks, and went to see abuela in Queens. Oh. A little person who shall not be named also decided to wake up at dawn on Sunday morning. Fun for everyone! But in all seriousness, although we missed daddy greatly, it was so nice to have a few days of one on one time with my boy. He really is the light of my life. Even if he hates when mami sleeps.
Saturday was perfect. The sun was shining and my boys and I had the day all to ourselves. We woke up and decided to take a walk through El Barrio, one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC. Spanish Harlem reminds me so much of the Caribbean. The gorgeous buildings painted in pastels – sweet pinks and pops of mint and turquoise. I could get lost just staring at all the beautiful colors and architecture! Back to Saturday. We got dressed and headed out around 10 am (not without Lucas’s beloved felt house, of course ;). We made our way uptown where Ivan decided to stop at his barber shop. Lucas and I played and patiently waited (someone decided it would be fun to roll around in a pile of hair not previously swept up. not pointing fingers or anything but it wasn’t me..). Afterwards we headed to Cotsco – NOT a good idea on a Saturday but we are family of rebels – and picked up just a few essentials. Body wash for Lucas, deodorant for mama, and protein powder for the hubs. Lucas started to nod off during the check out. I remembered a beer garden we had passed on the walk over and we jetted back to take advantage of nap time..sweet, sweet nap time. My love and I enjoyed a quiet hour drinking beers and discussing our upcoming trip to New Orleans (!). As we stepped back out to the curb, Lucas popped up. I couldn’t have timed it better if I had tried. The first official Saturday of Spring was so very good. I’m smiling just thinking about all the amazing weekends to come this season. beanie c/o no sweet | scarf and sweater c/o little boss shop | leggings c/o piccolini | sneakers from converse
My tiny garcon and I adore Union Square park. Sunday morning we were headed to a very special photo shoot with Sakura Bloom (eek! I will be sharing more soon!) and when the cab pulled up to our favorite entrance (yes, toddlers have a favorite EVERYTHING) we took a few minutes to relax and enjoy the weather. A big thank you to Hugo Loves Tiki for Lucas’s adorable sweater and mamas new favorite Spring bag! I’m so in love with the entire collection and I can’t wait to hang these prints (this and THIS!) in Lucas’s new room. Tomorrow we are expecting a snow storm so back to jacket weather it is. I am dreaming of warm weather and toting my new jus d’orange tote to Central Park picnics. sweater and tote c/o hugo loves tiki | hat (thrifted) | jeans from baby zara | moccs c/o freshly picked

This red felt house is Lucas’s new jam. He fills it up with all his best friends, including Wolverine, a couple of ninja turtles, and Bert (of the Bert and Ernie duo). I have given up on trying to convince him to leave the thing at home (dirty streets, bla bla bla). It’s just not worth the fight. Red felt house must come to all. the. places. 😉
My better half lovingly dubbed Lucas his monkey when he was born and the monicker kind of just stuck around. When one of us is home alone with the boy the back and forth texts read something like this: “how’s the monkey?” “what’s the monkey up to?”. Any who I find his nickname suits him and he loves his knit monkey hat so there’s that. Now an update.
The phrase “no way, man!” has made its way into Lucas’s vocabulary. I don’t know where he learned it but it’s hilarious and I love it.
When we arrive at his school he willingly hands over his pacifier to the teacher and doesn’t ask for it all throughout the day. We are thinking of going cold turkey next week. Positive pacifier vibes please!
We enjoy going over all our animals accompanied by some pretty awesome roars and meows. Our favorite is the monkey which apparently is the funniest of all the animals and also has the best dance moves.
He is drinking milk from a cup at school. No bottle! We are working on his night time bottle but soon we will be home free.
I love you’s are becoming more frequent and my mama heart is filled to capacity. “I yuh youuu mama.” Yep. The best.
We “cheers” everything. Sippy cups. Bottles. Glasses. Every beverage break is a celebration.
There’s a new building being constructed up the block from our apartment and a make shift side walk has been put up. There are plastic windows dotted along the wood walls where you can peek in and see all the demolition. Every day we have to stop at every window and with each peek Lucas says “wowwwww” with big saucer eyes. Such a boy this one!
Two is such a great age! Every day is an adventure with the kid.
We have technically started potty training but there hasn’t been much progress. We bought the pull-ups, have the potty (well I should hope so, right?), and have big boy undies (sniff sniff). Even armed with all the necessities, Lucas isn’t having it. “No way, man” he says while shaking his head when I ask him to join me in the bathroom. That thumbs up he’s giving in the photo above? Don’t believe that cute mug for a second. He’s just working on his acting skills ;)This weekend I’m planning on creating a potty chart. I’m headed to the store to pick up new supplies: poster board, stickers, and his favorite lollipops. We haven’t accomplished much else besides looking extra cute. I’m hoping for a new and improved update to share with you in the coming weeks. In the mean time, if any of my fellow mamas have any tricks or tips I’d love to hear them!

This week I couldn’t choose just one photo because oh my goodness, STUD MUFFIN. He’s wearing his favorite, worn in onesie and friends, there is nothing better than seeing your toddler wear just about about anything that makes them look like a baby. Also, I just love our Saturday morning cuddle sessions in bed.

I use it capture all of lifes little moments and without sounding crazy, it’s kind of my everything. Over the past two years since Lucas was born the technology of this little device has jumped leaps and bounds and many times my iPhone photos can rival those from my big girl camera.
