I pictured this moment while I was pregnant. These tender, loving, wonderful, heart exploding moments that my children would share. And let me tell you, the real thing is 100x better than anything I could have imagined. Lucas has exceeded all expectations of how he would react to his new baby sister. He absolutely adores Lillie and it’s an adorable sight to see. Every morning he looks for her and greets her with kisses and hugs. He loves to tell me just how cute and pretty she is. My mama heart is bursting with so much love for these two. My favorite is when he shouts “Lillie SOLLLLLL”. You have to just imagine his little pip-squeak voice and I guarantee it will make you grin. Sigh. My heart is right up there captured in a few impromptu photos.
Everyone in pajamas and/or undies. A mama covered in breast milk. Endless nursing sessions. Popsicles for a mid-day snack. This is a little glimpse into what you mind find if you come visit us nowadays. My love Mary snapped a few shots while her and little Olive came to visit us last week. I’m finding that visits from friends and family have been essential this time around and I’m so thankful for my beautiful tribe.
There’s something about these shots that make me happy. My boy relaxed and chill in his element. Playing with his turtles and happy to be home with his mama. Happy weekend to you all!

It’s absurdly cold here in NYC. I’m talking ten degrees but it really feels like zero kind of cold. We’ve been spending a lot of time cooped up in the house and if I’m being honest we are a bit stir crazy (aka losing our dang minds). I’ve spent many a nap time dreaming of when I can keep the windows open, take Lucas to the park, and rock my bump in a dress sans jacket (and gloves..and scarf..and beanie..). That being said, some days our cooped up mornings feel like perfection. Lucas is entertained by his Ninja Turtles and puzzles and I can sip my tea on the couch – feet propped up – in blissful peace. The sun shines through the windows and it almost feels like if you headed out you would be greeted by spring time warmth. Until then, we will be here, cuddled up and waiting.
Eek! After all the dreaming, fantasizing, and talking until we gave ourselves a massive headache, we are finally moving! Moving as in painting, packing, and bickering has commenced. And even though I think my tootsies will be permanently covered in paint I am loving ever single minute. I can’t wait to share more but for now these pretty pastel bowls will have to do. They are currently bringing me unhealthy amounts of joy. But I mean, ice cream in a mint bowl? That’s winning.
