Is it boot season already? I many have jumped the gun but who gives a hoot when your kid looks so stinking cute in them! I’ll take a pair in my size please 😉 The weather this September hasn’t disappointed. Sunny days with a slight chill and breezy evenings. No need for the AC at night makes me a very happy lady. I’ve even slowly started giving up my iced coffees and in their place I’ve been drinking a nice, warm mug of café con leche. YES.Boot weather also calls for coordinating cozy threads and No Sweet Kids is one of my very favorites. You can see more photos and learn more about this amazing company over on Babiekins. Also, this. A campaign that is supporting and encouraging kids to wear any color they choose – regardless of their gender. Started by Martine Zoer founder of Quirkie Kids, she is using her shop (chock full of PINK!) and campaign to spread tolerance of individual expression amongst kids and their peers – adults included. #freetowearpink
Casual afternoons call for bicycle shorts 😉 Lucas has been wearing this black pair (from the Children’s Place) for over a year and they are so comfy and worn in at this point that it’s kind of like reaching for one of my old favorite tee’s from college. They’re that good! His Bobo Choses top is from Line + Liv. It’s one of my go-to shops and they are currently having a crazy summer sale. Hip hip for summer savings!
In other news, Ivan and I are headed to New Orleans. Our first solo vacation in 3 years. To say I’m excited would be a major understatement. Of course nothing is packed and I have a million errands to run before dropping señor Lucas off at grandma’s but who cares when adult beverages and alone time with my man are around the corner. NOLA we are coming for you!
Lately we have been spending our afternoons wandering around Central Park. The blooms are in full swing and we are loving every beautiful blossom. I’m hoping for a million more delightful afternoons with my boy this summer.
Oh, and those adorable shorts Lucas is sporing? I’m just a weeee bit obsessed with the brand Children of the Tribe. The collections inspiration is taken from Byron Bay, Australia where the clothing is produced. Think mountains, earth tones, water, and deserts. The fabric is impeccable and the prints are out of this world. Lucas is wearing the dead fish shorts and they are perfection. “We create quality, timeless, stylish clothing for free-spirited little people who love to roam in the sand dunes, day dream in tree tops, and run barefoot through long grass.” Don’t forget play in Central Park 😉 Obsessed! I’m currently drooling over these. Flamingos in NYC? Yes, Please! Shop the whole collection here.
I love our weekend trips to Brooklyn. My sister in law is lucky enough to live a stones throw from Prospect Park which makes for fun, family picnics and easy access to a bathroom 😉 Lucas usually naps around 12pm and since we were on the train headed to the park during that time he decided to skip his usual snooze time (trains rides are just way too exciting!). As we approached the park he slowly started to turn into a MESS – skipping nap time will do that to you. So he slept for the first 2 hours and woke up with the dancing bug. FYI – yes, I’m a lucky mama. My kid can sleep through anything. Including a magic act and hip hop music blasting throughout the park. So fast forward 2 hours later and the kid was ready to party. I may be biased but Lucas is an incredible dancer. Seriously guys, the boy has moves! The moment my boy turns 3 (EEK!) he will be enrolled in dance. Dancing was such a big part of my life as a child and I think it’s such an incredible way to learn to express yourself. Plus music and dance is just in his blood. It’s pretty clear to see. So any who, dance class in a few months, amazing park trips to look forward to this summer, and the dopest dancing pants you ever did see. tee c/o no sweet | pants from munster kids c/o carousel ny | sneakers from converse
Are you kidding me with this t-shirt? It screams Lucas Leon! The stripes are mamas dream and the neon bow-tie and faux electric blue suspenders are Lucas’s jam. I (we) chose this perfect top from la-di-da kids, pretty much the ultimate kids online shop stocked with the most amazing brands for the littles. Lucas wore it out on a leisurely walk around the hood and a pit stop to the park. Snazziest kid on the block 😉 shirt from bang bang copenhagen c/o la-di-da | levi’s leggings c/o piccolini | sneakers from converse
