A few months ago we switched bedrooms with the kids – giving them the larger room to share (post to come soon!). Since we would be sacrificing space, I wanted a very minimal, clean look but with a splash of color. I have been obsessed with this nude/pink/peach color and I felt like it would be the perfect touch for our new bedroom. As fate would have it, I met Jessica Kollar, painter and designer, through Instagram and fell in love with her work. I explained my vision and she totally got it! She recommended a textured wall and I think it turned out just beautiful. A little about the process via Jessica: “First I tinted a lime based plaster to a light peachy color. Then troweled that on the wall allowing some imperfections and rough spots into the plaster. Allow to dry overnight. I then tinted some glazing medium to a burnt siena tone and brushed that on, wiping and blending it into the plaster.” Voila! For the rest of room, I added a few personal touches, white bedding, and some plants. I wanted to keep everything as simple as possible with our new accent wall being the main focus.

Our house is always evolving and little mementos and furniture/plants are always being shifted around but I feel so at peace in our bedroom. Below are some photos of Jessica while she was working on our siena wall:
