A few weeks ago my beautiful loves gathered in Brooklyn together to celebrate my daughter, Lillie Sol. Lucas’s baby shower was a huge affair and this time around I wanted something a bit more simple and intimate (and ladies only!). Besides getting stuck in traffic on the way there the afternoon was magic. I am just so thankful that I have a group of women in my life that care so deeply for my family and I. My little princess is quite the lucky little girl with so many tia’s that love her so much already!

This post was supposed to go up a few weeks ago but let’s just blame pregnant mama brain here..

Lucas: The last week of just you and I, kid. You are proving to be the best big brother!

Lillie: This is our last bump portrait taken at exactly 39 weeks. I was in early labor here with contractions coming in at 8-10 minutes apart. You were born the next day!

A 36 WEEK BUMP AND MATERNITY PORTRAITS

Maternity shots are tricky business. I find that I am most drawn to images that are natural and not over done. Too fussy and overly thought out bump photos make me nervous! When the lovely and talented Belle offered to take maternity portraits I jumped at the chance. I am drawn to her style and beautiful creativity and I felt confident she would capture my growing belly and I just how I envisioned.

Lucas: Your dad and I bought you a turtle blimp as a “big brother” gift and I can’t wait to see your reaction when you open it. I’m keep imaging  how it will be when you meet your sister for the first time and it’s just going to be so surreal seeing the two of you together. Soon my love!

Bebe: We are about to enter the one week countdown and we just can’t wait to have you in our arms. Braxton hicks are in full effect as is heart burn and back pain. You are getting ready for your debut and with each practice contraction I feel one step closer to you.

JAMES FOX CO.

IMG_1414 IMG_1417 IMG_1395 IMG_1401

I recently posted what I am including in my hospital bag and one of the items is this beautiful hospital gown. I wanted to share a bit more about it because it is designed and created with love by one of my very best friends and I couldn’t be more proud or honored to wear it! James Fox Co. officially launched 2 weeks ago and the mama/designer behind it is my lady love, Karla Quiz, and it is named after her two beautiful daughters.  A few details about the gowns:

+ they are designed to replace those frumpy hospital gowns and make you feel beautiful during a time that is highly emotional and you should be feeling your very best.

+ they are nursing friendly.

+ the fabric is soft and is perfection against your skin especially after birthing a baby (!!).

+ the back has snaps and the gown acts just a regular hospital gown would so that doctors (and machines, cords, etc.) can have easy access.

A big congratulations to my dear Karla on quite literally birthing this amazing idea, seeing it come to life, and helping to make those first moments with your new precious bebe extra special.

LEÓN WEARS | SUMMER TIME THREADS WITH H&M

When H&M contacted me and asked if I would like to style Lucas in some pieces from their Summer collection it was a no brainer. I love H&M for classic staples in simple styles – no fuss, adorable, and they transition from season to season so well.

These looks were so easy to put together and were just wins all around. Lucas looked adorable, he was comfy, and we were ready for whatever the day had in store. Playground? Check! Play date? Check! A nice dinner with daddy? Check! A big thank you to H&M for thinking of us and collaborating!

Lucas: You’ve been calling me “mamaaaaaaa” instead of “mommyyyyy” lately in the sweetest, most adorable voice and well…what can I say except you know how to make me melt.

Bebe: 2 weeks and 4 days left until your due date my sweet little one! There’s a full moon at the end of the month and I’m wondering whether you will make an early appearance.

CONEY ISLAND

I haven’t been to Coney Island in yearssss. Our niece is visiting from Canada and exploring Coney was on her NYC bucket list so off we went on the N train with our bags packed with sunscreen, shovels, and snacks. First thing. THE CROWDS. Wow! I can’t remember the last time we were around so many people. Second thing. The colors. The people. Talk about intense yet awesome stimulation. We parked ourselves by  the kiddie sand park and spent about 2 hours on the beach before heading to the boardwalk. Lucas had a blast – especially when he joined in what seemed to be a day time trance/techno party going on by Luna Park. We finished off the day at the Smorgasbord with amazing french fries and mofongo (smashed plantain). We probably won’t be back this summer..with less than 4 weeks to go until baby makes her appearance it just does’t seem doable..but we will definitely be back during the fall and next summer with two little ones in tow.

Lucas: You are asking when the baby is coming. Sometimes you announce “in 3 hours mama!” (which freaks me out!) and other times you are right on the ball with “3 weeks!”.

Bebe: Your movements are becoming more wave like rather than vigorous kicking and the doctor assured me all is well..you just don’t have as much room anymore in your comfy, temporary home. 36 weeks and counting!
