Lucas: This weekend you got a little taste of being a big brother. My dear friend spent the weekend with us with her beautiful 11 month old baby. There were a few pinches and pokes but overall you were curious and excited.

Bebe: 7 more weeks to go! Strangers have been coming up to me saying things such as “you look like you are ready to pop!” “due any day now!”. I get all worked up and think we still have a ways to go but in actuality we are going to meet you SO SOON!

A few snaps of my boy that make me happy. We are in this awkward phase with his hair – it’s not long but not short, it gets in his eyes, and most days I pull it up into a very manly bun or pony (which I honestly LOVE). I’ve asked him several times if he wants a haircut and the answer is always no so we are waiting it out until it’s longer which I think I think will be adorable for Fall! Any who, summer days are around the corner and I’m excited for his first official romp of the season in our local splash pad. 8 weeks left of just my boy and I and I plan to make every moment count. Lots of mama and Lucas dates to come.

Lucas: You are an expert at stalling bed time. The other night as you were pushing my buttons and giving me every excuse in the book as to why you didn’t want to close your eyes, you suddenly announced you wanted to sing me a song. “A heart song”. You improvised the entire melody with lyrics about hearts, family, and love. Seriously kid. I couldn’t love you more if I tried.

Bebe: You gave us a little scare this week and our Saturday night ended with a visit to labor & delivery. You are perfectly fine – actually more than fine! – and our midwife dubbed you “vivacious” as you kicked up a storm while we got checked out. I love you to the moon my feisty niña.

A DAY AT THE FAIR

A little late but last weekend we headed upstate for some downtime, a fair, and amazing food. What more could a pregnant lady ask for? I went to college in New Paltz, an amazing town with a vibe that can only be described as hippy meets AWESOME. It’s a breath of fresh air with open spaces, the best vintage and antique shops, and the friendliest locals. We love heading up at least twice a year and the arts & crafts fair was an awesome way to spend a Saturday. We didn’t buy much except for pickles, balsamic vinegar, and homemade fudge. Pregnancy cravings for the win!

A few weeks ago I got to spend the morning with Well Rounded NY, shooting with my dear friend Lindsey, around my hood. Having these photos mean the world – a little reminder I will always have of what a normal morning with my girl looked like before she was Earth side.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PART II – SEA HORSE RANCH

IMG_0360Part of the excitement of our family vacation was the anticipation of the beach portion of the trip and getting to spend a few nights at Sea Horse Ranch through Kid & Coe, located in Cabarete with easy access to Sosua beach (Ivan’s favorite).

As some of you may know, I’m the community manager for Kid & Coe – an amazing site and service catering to family travel with some of the most beautiful properties around the world. To say I was stoked to finally get to experience booking and staying in a Kid & Coe property first hand would be an understatement!

Lucas: You are warming up to the idea of your baby sis which makes my heart just want to explode with happiness. When I picked you up from school this week your teacher told me that you were announcing to your class “mommy has a baby girl in her belly!”.

Bebe: I feel your kicks and jabs more than ever now and tums have become my best friend. You are a wiggly princess!

Have you heard of Hatch? It’s a maternity line created by designer and mama Ariane Goldman with style, beauty, and fluidity in mind. Each piece is meant to grow with your pregnancy and be just as functional AFTER the baby arrives, which is pretty amazing if you ask me. Hatch recently launched their Plage Summer Collection and I had the opportunity to collaborate with them and the amazing ladies over at Hey Mama – a new website (it went live this week!) dedicated to bringing the mama tribe together – for this shoot.

What I love most about the collection is how beautiful I felt in each and every piece. My dear and insanely talented friend, Mary Grace, was the photographer and she made the day even better by putting me at ease and capturing these shots that I will treasure forever. My growing baby girl and I at 28 weeks!

BUMP STYLE | 28 WEEKS

This caftan from Tart Collections was a vacation staple for me. It’s not part of their maternity collection but it fit my growing bump perfectly and it made me feel both comfortable and beautiful – not an easy feat while pregnant! Lucas: Lately your favorite activity is puzzles. We even call you the puzzle prince because we swear nobody is as good at completing puzzles as you are!

Bebe: 29 weeks and you are as big as a small cabbage. Most days my belly is shaped into a point and I can’t tell if you’re jamming your head, a foot, or an elbow into me.
