BABY ESSENTIALS | OWLET BABY MONITOR

Motherhood is amazing. The best job in the world in my humble opinion. But it also the culprit of anxiety and lots of sleepless nights – especially with newborns. When we brought Lucas home I was constantly checking on him, making sure he was breathing and all was well. This time around with Lillie has proven to be no different.

When I first learned about the Owlet Baby Monitor I knew it was a baby/mama must have. Unlike a traditional monitor, this is a smart sock..SAY WHAT?! The sock comes in three sizes and uses pulse oximetry to monitor heart rate and oxygen levels while your little one sleeps. Instead of constantly checking a screen (which would drive any mama crazy), the monitor is connected to an independent base and will alert your phone should their be an issue or your baby stops breathing, allowing you to react quickly and efficiently.

Lucas: Your winter recital is in December – your very first school performance! You want me to invite the whole family..”Nana! Titi Meme! Abuela!” To say I’m excited to see your show is an understatement. Proud mama with a camera coming through!

Lillie: Four months on Tuesday – time is flying and I’m trying my hardest to live in the moment, be present, and not rush any milestones. PS – I kiss those plump cheeks about a million times a day. Maybe more.

CITY ADVENTURES

Weekend adventures. We sorta, kinda, really love you. When Friday evening rolls around the wheels start turning and I start brainstorming what and where we can go with the kiddos. I love having my hubby around and our weekends are seriously good for my soul. On this particular day we made it out to Target and strolled around Harlem. We ended the day with a trip to Applebees. Nothing fancy but man was it perfect. I’m so looking forward to our holiday adventures. Reindeers at the Bronx Zoo? Yes, please! Wishing you all a fab holiday week ahead!

A few adventure game changers: Our amazing bugaboo bee makes our outings so much easier (and chic ;). Lucas is obsessed with his board and Lillie stays snug and warm in her bassinet. Thank you, Bugaboo! Our diaper bag is from storksac and is a multi-functioning book bag that I can’t get enough of. H&M is killing it this season and this mama is staying warm and chic in wrap coat and amazing scarf (that can double as a nursing cover!). Wins!

The past four years have been the best of my life. You have brought our family infinite joy and happiness. You are a bright star that I know will go so very far in life. With your wit, compassion, joy, and smarts, well, the world isn’t going to know what hit it when you spread your wings. God knew just what he was doing when he picked you just for us. I can’t even properly articulate just how deep my love runs for you. I hope you always know just how loved you are and that your mommy and daddy will do anything and everything for you. Always. Lucas: I’ve been making it a point of talking to you and letting you know all the positive and wonderful things we love about you. Sometimes we have hard moments and I never want that to define our days. Tonight I told you that I loved how funny you are and how gentle and caring you are with your sister. You blushed and told “your crazy mom”. I’ll take it.

Lillie: You become more squishy and scrumptious with each passing day. I simply can not believe you will be four months in a week.

How has it been 3 months already? Lillie Sol, our little love. You are a dream. You’re not sleeping through the night yet but you’ve given us a fewww long(ish) stretches. Your perfectly content in your crib and we usually bring you into bed with us in the early AM. You are officially a giggler and you think I’m pretty hilarious. Also, THE CHUB. You are filling out everywhere and I can’t get enough of those cheeks and thighs! Your big brother is certifiably obsessed with you, as we all are.

Lucas: FOUR in just a few days. I can’t believe it. Last night I went to your room and carried you back into bed to sleep in between mommy and daddy. Forever my baby you’ll be.

Lillie: My sweet girl! You are growing so fast and plumping up at a rapid pace. Your personality is shining and those giggles of yours are the BEST.

A month ago we had a family shoot with the very talented Danila Mednikov. When Danila first reached out and I browsed his work I fell in love immediately. Whimsical and magical were the first thoughts that came to my mind. I couldn’t wait to have him come to our home and capture us in our day to day routine.

After spending a few hours at home, we headed out to our favorite park and strolled around the city. The weather was perfect, the kids were angels, it couldn’t have gone better. I love how these images capture my tribe. The people I love most in the world in our very favorite place in the world. This is such a surreal, magical, sleep-deprived, wildly wonderful time in our lives and I always want to remember this time in our lives.

Lucas: We were sitting at your craft/coloring table in the living room today. Just us. Talking and drawing. I asked if you liked the flowers I had just colored and you replied “they’re lovely” in the sweetest little voice and with the most perfect little smile. I melted into a mama puddle right then and there.

Lillie: You slept through the night for the first time this week! I was mentally and emotionally exhausted and it was such a gift. 10:30 pm – 7 am. Say what?! Thank you my sweet girl!
