My beautiful loves. Summer is in full swing and we are going to bed each night exhausted but happy. Just as it should be. I am so looking forward to our many adventures and spending our days together for the next 2 months. I love you!!

Lucas: You are constantly surprising me. Just when I’m at my wits end with that 6 year old sass, you offer a helping hand to a friend, write the sweetest note, or I find you playing so sweetly and patiently with your sister. I am SO proud of the boy you are becoming.
Lillie: 2 more months until you are THREE! I wish I could bottle up this time with you forever. You are talking non stop, you still love your bobo, your night time leche, and cuddles with mommy. My beautiful baby girl.

Lucas: Last week you were home sick with pink eye (ahhh) and we spent the entire day creating youtube videos for your pretend channel. The name of your channel is ’80 Farts’ and it’s epic.
Lillie: Mi niña! Daddy has been walking around the house singing ‘walk it like I talk it’ and now you’ve picked it up. I finally got you on video running through the house naked shouting ‘walk it like I talk it’. I’m still deciding if i’m going to play it at your future wedding ;).

Lucas: I kept you home from school to go on a picnic and “just because”. When I told you the night before we were going to spend the day together you were SO happy. You said “Thank you mommy! It’s just what I wanted. I have been dreaming of this all my life!”
Lillie: The other night I went in to check on you around midnight. As I fixed your blanket you started giggling in your sleep and had the cutest little smile. It made my heart burst and I wish I could have recorded it so I could replay it forever.

Lillie: Whenever we are apart, even a short amount of time, you have theeee biggest, cheesy grin on your face when I come back to get you. You have always been happy to see me but recently its turned into a full on love fest when we’re reunited. I love you my beautiful girl!
Lucas: Last week I took away your iPad for a week. I honestly thought you would be asking me for it every single day until Friday. Instead you have completely surprised me. You haven’t asked for it once (not counting the first day when you begged me to give it back :). Today we sat down on the living room floor to play cards and in the middle of the game you looked up and asked me what day you were getting your iPad back. Immediately after you responded with “You know what mama? I’m really surprised with myself because I haven’t thought about the iPad at all. I don’t think I really need the iPad much anymore.” You are always full of surprises my love.

Lucas: We were about to bake and you asked me if we could “make it from scrap” instead of scratch. These are the kind of things I jot down in my phone so I always remember.
Lillie: After bath time I said “you smell delicious!” and then you replied “No. I farted.” A Lillie Sol gem haha!

Lucas: We were laying down and having our nightly chat when you told me something that I never want to forget. “My biggest dream is to be a father. So I can take care of my beautiful kids.” I love you so much my boy.
Lillie: My girl – you make us LAUGH. Like full on belly ache kind of laugh. Earlier today you came over to me with ice pop dripping from your mouth and all over your hands. I asked you to come to the bathroom so we could clean it off and you said “I want to take a shower. I want to be cleannnn!!”

Lucas: Last week we attended a student art show at Sotheby’s. Your painting was selected as part of the show and my heart was so full – growing with you and sharing these amazing experiences. I hope these will be memories you never forget!
Lillie: You’re a little trouble maker but man you have my heart. You decided it would be funny to pour out several cups of water while bathing – even after I told you no. As I cleaned it up you kept apologizing (“I sowwyyy mommy”). After I dried you off and put on your pajamas, you found me hiding in the bedroom and jumped on top of me. Only to smother me in kisses. The best kisses in the world.

Lucas: It’s rare that you and I get a full day of one on time but when it happens it is so very special to me. I took you to a Lego Live event last weekend and while I was tucking you into bed that evening I asked what your favorite part of the day was. Your response? “Spending time together.”
Lillie: The other day you came strolling into the living room and announced quite matter of factly “I need dollars. I need money.” You might be the funniest toddler I know.

Lucas: We were going through a bag of old toys and little figurines when you said “oh wow!! These are brining me memories! From when I was three mama!”. You have always been so aware of how things make you feel and when objects, a photo, etc. make you rekindle a memory. It reminds me so much of myself.
Lillie: All of a sudden you are obsessed with your bobos (pacifier). I snapped a photo the other day of you with not one but THREE bobos in your mouth at once. It makes me laugh because Lucas was the exact same way at your age and I have similar photos of him clutching several bobos at once.
