Lucas: We were sitting at your craft/coloring table in the living room today. Just us. Talking and drawing. I asked if you liked the flowers I had just colored and you replied “they’re lovely” in the sweetest little voice and with the most perfect little smile. I melted into a mama puddle right then and there.

Lillie: You slept through the night for the first time this week! I was mentally and emotionally exhausted and it was such a gift. 10:30 pm – 7 am. Say what?! Thank you my sweet girl!

I feel like we have hit a really great point. We have somewhat of a schedule/routine down and when moments like this happen, well, I can’t help but feel like a damn champ ;).

Lucas: Your social calendar is bigger and better than mine and we have been attending birthday parties and halloween shindigs galore. You are loving every minute of it and seeing you grow socially and make new friends makes a happy, proud mama.

Lillie: Yesterday you were thisssss close to letting out a full fledged giggle and I almost lost it. I just can’t wait to hear that laugh!!

Lucas: You will be four in exactly a month and I just can’t believe it. I’m holding on to these last few weeks of toddlerhood with super mama strength.

Lillie: Those sweet baby limbs are filling out with delicious chub. Your cheeks are particularly scrumptious.

Lucas: Your new favorite thing to do is draw portraits. Of mommy, daddy, baby Lillie..guests who come over to visit are also subject to being drawn. I’m loving the way you capture details from our hair to our clothing. A budding artist!

Lillie: 2 months have flown by. You love to smile, nurse, and cuddle..not much has changed ;). You turn now to the sound of our voices and when Lucas coos over you he can always manage to get the biggest smile out of you. To say we are over the moon in love with you would be putting it lightly.

Lucas: October. Beanie season has arrived and you’re looking extra cute and extra big these days.

Lillie: You’re fascinated with your other brother, Humphrey Bogart.

Lucas: Every day I pick you up from school and you have a new song or word or phrase you are using and it fills me with so much joy to see you learning so very much!

Lillie: This face. Your confused, “what’s going on ma” look that you give me so often. I love this little expression of yours.

Lucas: You are a pre-k champ! So far you are loving school, your teacher, and your new routine. You check your lunch box every morning to check what I packed and after inspection you tell me “great job mom!”.

Lillie: Little miss smiles! Usually at our 7am feeding I like to talk to you and ask you how you slept ;). In return you give me the cutest little gummy smile and it seriously makes my heart want to burst.

Lucas: You rocked your first week of pre-k! No tears were shed (except from your father and I..) and your teacher emailed me that you have been all smiles in class. We am so very proud of you.

Lillie: Miss Sol! 6 weeks with you, our beauty. You love to be carried, you are smiling more and more, and you are simply a joy. You outgrew your first onesie today! Quite a big deal seeing as though you are still our teeny lady.

Lucas: Thank goodness for your sweet little voice because it’s the last little bit of “baby” that I’m hanging on to. I can see you changing and becoming a little (big) boy that’s vivacious, intelligent, and spunky.

Lillie: Besides sleeping (and pooping..) you love to look around and take in your surroundings. You are a curious little love bug and I adore watching your big eyes take in the world. Disclaimer: I know you are sleeping in this photo but I couldn’t resist those pouty lips and your fist bump!
