HAPPY HALLOWEEN: A TURTLE AND HIS FRIDA

IMG_4202 IMG_4204

Halloween with these two..pretty much the best. My ninja turtle and baby Frida Kahlo. Last year our Halloween was a bust – we never made it out the house. Lucas had zero interest in heading out even though we tried our best to explain..CANDY! Nope. So this year was fantastic. For two hours we watched our boy knock on doors and shout out “trick to treattttt!”. Also these were the best shots we got. Perfectly imperfect. Halloween with our two beautiful kiddos. I’m already looking forward to next year and having a matching family getup. Yes!

Although Lillie didn’t wear her full getup on Halloween day (check out that unibrow) I had a blast dressing her up a few days prior. You can see more photos of our baby Frida over on Babiekins.

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween weekend with your kiddos! xx

I feel like we have hit a really great point. We have somewhat of a schedule/routine down and when moments like this happen, well, I can’t help but feel like a damn champ ;).

BUGABOO X DIESEL COLLECTION | I

When Bugaboo asked me if I would like to be a part of their Diesel Collection campaign I jumped at the chance. This iconic company has long been a favorite of mine and their collaborations are truly one of a kind and just so special. Their Diesel Collection in particular is strong, powerful, and beautiful..just perfect for this NYC mama. With a gorgeous muted color story, each stroller is not just extremely function but they are truly eye candy! Over the next few months I will be working on photographing and showcasing the entire collection (on the blog as well as Instagram). My dear Mary Grace will be joining me by pushing her gorgeous Olive in the Military Chameleon. We will be strolling all over Manhattan with our Bugaboos so if you see us with our babes make sure you say hi!

You can follow along via Instagram by checking out the #BugabooDiesel hashtag.

Lucas: Your social calendar is bigger and better than mine and we have been attending birthday parties and halloween shindigs galore. You are loving every minute of it and seeing you grow socially and make new friends makes a happy, proud mama.

Lillie: Yesterday you were thisssss close to letting out a full fledged giggle and I almost lost it. I just can’t wait to hear that laugh!!

OUR NUNA PIPA

IMG_3193 IMG_3198 IMG_3207 IMG_3209 IMG_3230 IMG_3237

Selecting a car seat for Lillie was by far our most important baby gear decision. I can’t think of anything more critical than car seat safety and ensuring your children are safe and protected while traveling. The Pipa by Nuna was our choice and we couldn’t be happier.

A few things I absolutely love about our Pippa:

+ the steel stability leg and latch

+ dream drape canopy extension

+ bubble level indicators (which confirm your seat is in the correct angle)

+ it’s aircraft certified

You can check out more details and features here. I couldn’t be happier (and more secure) with our Pipa!

I’m currently researching booster seats if anyone has any tips or recommendations!

TWO MONTH UPDATE

I took these photos on time butttt I’m a little posting. Seems like a current trend over. Two kids is no joke 😉 Anywho, two months with our baby girl! It seems like just yesterday she was born and now she is this delicious baby who coos, has amazing neck and head strength, and gives us the best smiles.

Even her cries are adorable! This little one has us wrapped around her very tiny fingers already. Te adoro Lillie Sol.

Lucas: You will be four in exactly a month and I just can’t believe it. I’m holding on to these last few weeks of toddlerhood with super mama strength.

Lillie: Those sweet baby limbs are filling out with delicious chub. Your cheeks are particularly scrumptious.

Lucas: Your new favorite thing to do is draw portraits. Of mommy, daddy, baby Lillie..guests who come over to visit are also subject to being drawn. I’m loving the way you capture details from our hair to our clothing. A budding artist!

Lillie: 2 months have flown by. You love to smile, nurse, and cuddle..not much has changed ;). You turn now to the sound of our voices and when Lucas coos over you he can always manage to get the biggest smile out of you. To say we are over the moon in love with you would be putting it lightly.

NEWBORN LIFE | A FAMILY SESSION

Nicole-Family-Pics-29 copy

After a full week at home we had my dear friend Belle come over to shoot us in all our newborn glory. When Belle first sent me the final images, the first thing I noticed (after my darling children of course 😉 was that in most of the photos it looked like I hadn’t combed my hair. I’m pretty sure I had put a brush through my mop. Did I actually forget or was my vision so blurry from sleep deprivation that I thought I had thoroughly smoothed down my bed head? Then I laughed. I laughed at my silliness and then all I saw was beauty. Beauty and real life. We were only a week in with our Lillie Sol and still adjusting to life at home as a family of four (no sleep..schedules were all off..taking care of Lucas’s needs..finding time to shower and brush our teeth..) and yea, my hair looks a little, um, fluffy. It’s now four weeks later and it’s not any better plus the bags under my eyes are 10 times darker (and I think I found a few gray hairs!) BUT my heart is full, my family is happy and healthy, and really what more could I ask for. These beautiful images will forever be a reminder of a short, sweet, sleep deprived, glorious moment in time with my little family.

GLOBAL HAND WASHING DAY WITH DIAL

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset

We have always been big hand washers/let’s keep the germs at bay kind of people. However toddlers are messy little people that just seem to attract dirt wherever they go. Lucas also just started pre-k so now he’s in an environment full of germs and boogies. I knew that before baby Lillie arrived we would have to make a bigger effort to instill the importance of hand washing and have it become a routine for Lucas.

When we walk into our apartment the conversation goes something like this: “Shoes off and straight to the bathroom! Time to wash our hands.” Lucas has a little stool that he moves around the house as needed and it’s perfect for standing on for sink time tasks such as brushing teeth and washing hands. He knows how to use the soap pump, scrub up, and rinse. I stand by for supervision but he feels like a big boy when he does it all by himself. To get Lucas into his hand washing routine we spoke to him at length how babies can get sick from germs and how important it was for him as a big brother to help protect his little sister.

Dial Global Handwashing Day

A home with two healthy kiddos? That’s a win in my book. I recently got the chance to team up with Dial to help spread the word on hand washing and I was honestly shocked to learn just how important it truly is. Did you know that by hand washing with soap you cut your child’s chance of a respiratory infection in half? I’d love if you could join in spreading the word on the importance of hand washing! You can sign up for Dial Rewards here and use the code “Wash 9”. Dial is donating $1 for every code used up to $50,000 to support global hand washing education. You can also share on social via Facebook and Twitter.
